Texas gubernatorial candidate and former Green Beret Lt. Col. Dr. Pete Chambers threatened to arrest former NIAID Director Anthony Fauci.
“As the commander-in-chief of all Texas forces and the Department of, we’ll call it Justice for Texas, DPS, Department of Public Safety, with the Attorney General, I have the authority as the Governor to issue arrest warrants for anybody that has committed a crime against humanity,” Chambers said during an event. “
Describing the man who would lead the Department of Public Safety should he become Texas Governor, Chambers said, “He’s a Marine. He’s meaner than a snake. He loves Jesus and he’s on my team right now — so that guy with me, he’s gonna arrest Fauci and he’s gonna bring him back, he’ll go to jail, and then we’ll conduct a trial, or do whatever – whatever the offense is for crimes against humanity. We’ll look it up in the statutes, it’s in there. And we’ll handle it, and then next one will fall, and then next one, and so on.”
“And we’ll bring actual accountability in the State of Texas, and they will be afraid to come into Texas, in the Republic of Texas,” he declared, adding, “But they will have to fulfill that through the Department of Justice federal side, because it’s a felony arrest warrant.”
Earlier this year, seventeen state attorneys general demanded that Republican congressional leaders investigate Fauci for his role in the COVID-19.
“President Biden’s blanket pardon of Dr. Fauci is a shameful attempt to prevent accountability,” South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said at the time. “If any of these findings indicate violations of state laws, we are fully prepared to take appropriate action to ensure justice is served.”
Wilson, led the effort, sent a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, urging that if they “believe that further findings or direct evidence that suggests there may have been any violation of state laws, please include us in any actions taken so that we may evaluate state-level courses of action.”
