Governing Body for Cycling Bans ‘Trans Women’ From Female Competition, Creates ‘Non-binary’ Race

Great Britain’s national governing body for cycling, British Cycling, banned transgender women, biological men, from participating in races against biological women.

Instead, the body abolished the Men’s category and created an open, non-binary category.

“Transgender women, transgender men, non-binary individuals and those whose sex was assigned male at birth will be eligible to compete in the ‘Open’ category,” the governing body announced.

Reporting from The National Pulse:

The policy will pose challenges for transgenderism advocates who have argued that biological males have no advantage over biological women in sports, given competition between the sexes will be the norm in the ‘Open’ category.
