Gov. Ron DeSantis to Headline 52nd Annual March for Life in Washington, DC

Fresh from a significant victory for the pro-life movement in Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis is set to headline the 52nd annual March for Life, the world’s largest human rights demonstration, on January 24, 2025, in Washington, DC.

DeSantis, a prominent advocate for the unborn, led the successful campaign to defeat Florida’s Amendment 4 in November 2024. The proposed constitutional amendment would have established abortion as a “right” and restricted the state from limiting abortion procedures before 24 weeks or later if deemed necessary by a healthcare provider.

The March for Life Education and Defense Fund announced that this year’s theme, “Life: Why We March,” emphasizes the humanity and dignity of every person while calling for greater support for mothers and children.

Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, shared her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “For the past 52 years, the March for Life has powerfully witnessed to the tragedy of abortion while calling for stronger protections for women and the unborn. This year’s speakers will highlight the inherent dignity and value of every life, reminding us why we march.”

Jennie Bradley Lichter, the President-Elect of the organization, echoed Mancini’s sentiments, adding, “This year’s lineup reflects the enduring strength and unity of the pro-life movement. There is nothing else like the March for Life, and I am honored to stand with these inspiring leaders and Americans who fight for life every day.”

The event, known for drawing tens of thousands of pro-life advocates from across the country, will feature testimonies from elected officials, pro-life leaders, and others who share a commitment to protecting life from conception to natural death.

DeSantis’s presence underscores the momentum gained in the fight for life, as the pro-life movement continues its efforts to protect the unborn and support families nationwide.
