‘Fully’ Vaxxed LeBron James Tests Positive for COVID

The Los Angeles Lakers’ star player, who is fully vaccinated, did not play in Tuesday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings because he tested positive for Covid-19.

QUICK FACTS:
  • The team became aware that James was entering the NBA health and safety protocols on Tuesday morning, according to reporting from ESPN.
  • “Obviously, it’s a huge loss,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said Tuesday.
  • “It’s disappointing. We just want the best for him right now. That’s where our thoughts are. And we have a next man up mindset.”
  • Lakers’ GM Rob Pelinka claimed the whole Lakers roster would be fully vaccinated by the start of the season. “On opening night, all of the players that are currently signed on our roster will be deemed fully vaccinated,” Pelinka told reporters in September.
