‘Full Woke’ Disney Gives Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Employees a Gender-Neutral Title Makeover

“Fairy Godmothers in Training” now called “Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices.”

  • Staff members at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will now be referred to as “Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices” rather than “Fairy Godmothers in Training,” according to Disney.
  • The adjustment is an effort to make the theme parks more gender-neutral, according to a Tuesday report from Walt Disney World (WDW) News Today.
  • Both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland websites have already updated their titles to reflect the change.
  • Children as young as 3 and as old as 12 can visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a Disney-style makeover.
  • The now-named Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices carry out their employment by transforming children into princesses or nights with hairstyles, makeup, and costumes.
  • One New York father who has taken his children to Disney’s Florida location said he noticed the change: “I saw this [the change in title to ‘Fairy Godmothers in Training’] and I think it’s absurd,” the father said.
  • “Having a daughter who did the Bibbity Boppity Boutique where this is being implemented just further cements my thoughts that I can’t take my kids there anymore. They’ve gone full woke,” he added.
  • The frustrated dad said it’s his opinion that Disney’s “footprint will be greatly reduced within a decade because of things like this.”
  • Last summer, the company began omitting any use of the phrase “ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls” from its parks, replacing it with the greeting, “Good evening, dreamers of all ages!”
  • Commenters responded to Disney’s obvious and progressive change, calling it “completely unnecessary” and “overly sensitive.”
  • Jack Wagner, who is known as “the voice of Disney” for his voice work with the parks, estimated that he has said the previous phrase over 8 million times during his two-decade tenure as park announcer for Disneyland, Disney World, and Tokyo Disneyland.
