French Senators Call For Ban On Transgender Medical Services for Children

A group of French senators are calling for a ban on transgender medical services for children.

The group released a report this week warning against children receiving puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender surgeries which can mean double mastectomies and genital surgery.

The 340-page report calls medically transitioning minors “one of the greatest ethical scandals in the history of medicine” and claims transgender activists are pushing gender transitions on children through social media campaigns.

The call comes as France’s High Authority of Health is expected to make a recommendation on transgender medical services for minors soon.

The senators view the issue as urgent and said they plan to propose a bill before the summer to ban puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender surgeries for minors being treated for “gender dysphoria.”

In England, the British National Health Service announced a ban on puberty blockers for children recently.

Tavistock, England’s only youth gender clinic, will close at the end of this month, the National Health Service said.

In its last years, Tavistock began to see an increase in young girls with gender-related distress requesting drugs despite having other mental issues like depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and histories of abuse.
