Former Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf spoke to “Just the News, No Noise” and expressed his concerns with the U.S. military.
Although he has “great confidence in our fighting men and women,” Wolf said U.S. troops are plagued with “woke” teachings.”
“I’ve seen over the last two and a half years or more, what they’ve done to the U.S. military and degrading physical standards, going woke in their teachings there in the Pentagon and elsewhere. That gives me great concern,” he shared with the TV show.
The statement comes as the United States Military Academy at West Point published a Diversity and Inclusion Plan.
According to the plan, “We have a growing divide between the military demographic and the American people, particularly within the Officer Corps. An Army not representative of the nation may become illegitimate in the eyes of some people.”
In the report, “diversity” is defined as the “range of human differences, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, social class, physical ability, religious or ethical values system, national origin, and political beliefs.”
Several of the outcomes of the Diversity and Inclusion Plan include a commitment to “diversity and inclusion principles, practices, and outcomes;” being a “national leader in maintaining an inclusive environment;” and making “measurable contributions to diversity and inclusion progress.”
To combat woke ideologies within the military, a South Carolina pastor, Mark Burns, announced that he is creating a Christian military academy.
“In response to the growing influence of the ‘woke’ agenda in American public schools, I am proud to announce the upcoming establishment of BURNS MILITARY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY in Easley, SC, slated for the 2024-25 academic year,” Burns wrote in a Facebook post. “Our mission is to provide an affordable, pro-American education with a strong emphasis on biblical teachings, and to create an environment where children can learn and grow without the need for discipline or court-ordered attendance.”
