Fired FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington said it is the agency’s policy to avoid “politically hostile” homes.
“If you look at the record, there is what we call a ‘community trend,’ and unfortunately, it just so happened that the political hostility that was encountered by my team … they just so happened to have the Trump campaign signage,” Washington told Roland Martin.
“FEMA always preaches avoidance first and then de-escalation, so this is not isolated. This is a colossal event of avoidance not just in the state of Florida, but you will find avoidance in the Carolinas.”
She asserted that “senior leadership will lie to you and tell you that they do not know, but if you ask the DSA crew leagues and specialists what they are experiencing in the field, they will tell you.”
“Demand from FEMA to get you those incident reports. They will substantiate what is happening to us in the field,” Washington said, referring to incidents of “political hostility.”
According to information obtained by The Daily Wire, whistleblowers alleged that FEMA bypassed at least 20 homes, discriminating against Trump supporters.
FEMA workers wrote in an internal system that some addresses could not be accessed due to “Trump sign no entry per leadership,” “Per leadership no stop Trump flag,” “Trump sign,” and “Trump sign, no contact per leadership.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the state’s Division of Emergency Management would investigate the incident.
“The blatant weaponization of government by partisan activists in the federal bureaucracy is yet another reason why the Biden-Harris administration is in its final days,” DeSantis posted on X. “At my direction, the Division of Emergency Management is launching an investigation into the federal government’s targeted discrimination of Floridians who support Donald Trump,” DeSantis added. “New leadership is on the way in DC, and I’m optimistic that these partisan bureaucrats will be fired.”
