Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) says the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) assertion that it only met with Facebook once regarding Hunter Biden’s “laptop from Hell” is false.
The declaration follows the latest release of Jordan’s “Facebook Files.”
FBI special agent Elvis Chan originally stated that he was not aware of meetings between the FBI and Facebook apart from one instance.
He also noted he had “no internal knowledge” of the FBI’s investigation of the laptop.
Jordan said these statements were “COMPLETELY FALSE,” adding that the House Judiciary Committee “recently obtained an internal Facebook document PROVING that Agent Chan had a secret ‘follow up’ call with Facebook about the Hunter Biden laptop story on October 15, just one day after the @nypost story and the first Facebook meeting!”
While Chan said he had no knowledge of the laptop investigation, documents show that a Facebook employee wrote that “Chan advised that he was up to speed on the current state of the matter within the FBI.”
Chan also told the social media platform that “there was no current evidence to suggest any foreign connection or direction of the leak.”
Reporting from Breitbart:
When Facebook initially asked the FBI if the Hunter Biden laptop story was real, Laura Dehmlow, currently Section Chief of the Foreign Influence Task Force, said “no comment.” At that point, the FBI was fully aware that the laptop was real, according to Rep. Jordan. “The laptop was real, and the FBI knew it,” said Rep. Jordan on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “The FBI had the laptop since December 2019.”
