Since the beginning of 2023, 7 falsified college hate crimes have been reported. In one incident, Penn State claimed that accusations of racist slurs against Rutgers University basketball players were groundless. An investigation into the event concluded, “no apparent racial slurs were used by Penn State fans.” In another hate crime hoax, an anti-gay hate crime was blamed on a Harvard pro-life group. A black Harvard Democrat was actually at fault.
From The College Fix:
Also in March, there was an uproar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology over flyers and chalkings found at the school that included slurs against LGBTQ people. But upon further review, administrators determined the slurs were not written by a bunch of homophobes — but rather students protesting the university’s emerging policies in support of free speech.
