Legendary rock musician Eric Clapton took to the stage last night for a special performance in support of Democrat Presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.).

The exclusive fundraiser, hosted at a Brentwood estate close to Los Angeles, amassed a notable $2.2 million in contributions.

The Kennedy campaign directly benefited from $1 million, while a PAC backing Kennedy received the remaining $1.2 million.

Presidential candidate Kennedy expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am deeply grateful to Eric Clapton for bringing his musical artistry and rebellious spirit to my gathering in Los Angeles last night.”

He further reflected on the unifying power of music, saying, “I sometimes think that in our divided society, it is music rather than any kind of intellectual agreement that has the most potential to bring us together again. Eric sings from the depths of the human condition.”

“If he sees in me the possibility of bringing unity to our country, it is only possible because artists like him invoke a buried faith in the limitless power of human beings to overcome any obstacle,” RFK Jr. added.

In the lead-up to the event, Clapton had conveyed his enthusiasm in a video message, emphasizing his anticipation for the concert for “truth, unity, peace, and posterity.”
