Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna (CA) plans to introduce an amendment requiring the House of Representatives to vote on the release of all files pertaining to Jeffrey Epstein.
“Why are the Epstein files still hidden? Who are the rich & powerful being protected?” Khanna wrote on social media over the weekend. “On Tuesday, I’m introducing an amendment to force a vote demanding the FULL Epstein files be released to the public. The Speaker must call a vote & put every Congress member on record.”
A recent memo from the DOJ and FBI, released July 7, claimed that convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein took his own life in August 2019.
“This systematic review revealed no incriminating ‘client list.’ There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions. We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties,” the memo said, adding, “the conclusion that Epstein died by suicide is further supported by video footage from the common area of the Special Housing Unit (SHU) where Epstein was housed at the time of his death.”
Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) filed a subpoena in 2023 for flight logs related to Epstein. Former Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin (D-IL) blocked her effort, to which Blackburn said, “I am calling on Chairman Durbin, who has blocked my repeated requests to subpoena Epstein’s flight records, to follow through with his promise to make all of these records public.”
“While redacted portions of Epstein’s flight logs and Maxwell’s ‘little black book’ have been released in various lawsuits, the American people have the right to know who flew on Epstein’s plane and who potentially participated in his international sex trafficking ring,” she stated at the time.
