Elissa Slotkin Under Federal Investigation

Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) is under federal investigation for her involvement in a video urging military members to defy so-called “illegal orders” from President Trump. She later admitted that she could not name a single “illegal order” issued by Trump.

“To be clear, this is the president’s playbook. Truth doesn’t matter, facts don’t matter, and anyone who disagrees with him becomes an enemy, and he then weaponizes the federal government against them,” Slotkin said in a video, disclosing that the office of U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro requested to interview her over the “illegal orders” statement. “It’s legal intimidation and physical intimidation meant to get you to shut up. He’s used it with our universities, our corporations, our legal community, and with politicians, who falsely believe that doing his bidding and staying quiet will keep them safe. No, I’m not going to do that, because this president does not represent the views of a majority of Americans.”

Slotkin revealed in November that she was under FBI investigation. “The President directing the FBI to target us is exactly why we made this video in the first place,” she wrote on X. “He believes in weaponizing the federal government against his [perceived] enemies and does not believe laws apply to him or his Cabinet. He uses legal harassment as an intimidation tactic, to scare people out of speaking up.”

Another senator involved in the “illegal orders” video, Mark Kelly (D-AZ), has filed a lawsuit against the War Department and its Secretary, Pete Hegseth, after the department cut his retirement pay from his military service. The War Department’s action stemmed from Kelly’s appearance in the social media content.
