During an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Emmy-winning actress Drea de Matteo revealed that many Trump supporters in Hollywood remain silent. Her comments come amidst high-profile fundraising events for President Joe Biden, attended by prominent Democrats like Barack Obama and Robert De Niro.
De Matteo expressed discomfort after viewing clips from a recent Democratic fundraiser, stating, “It’s the Italian, man. We’re talking about Fauci, we’re talking about De Niro. I am mortified right now by my people.”
The actress suggested that many Hollywood insiders may be quietly supporting Trump. “I wonder how much these actors got paid to endorse Biden at this point. I’m curious. I wonder if De Niro got paid a location fee because he had to travel to the courtroom,” the actress commented.
Despite her success on “The Sopranos,” de Matteo claimed she never felt part of Hollywood’s elite. “We were the outcasts even though we were the critically acclaimed we were outcasts. I’m still an outcast.” She continued in a joking matter, saying, “They’re going to take me out into the woods and shoot me for not supporting Biden.”
De Matteo opened up to Watters, explaining that her stance is not political. The actress noted that she “[never] cared about politics until this very moment in time, because it’s not about politics anymore, this is about freedom and humanity and human beings and we the people.”
