Disneyland announced “Pride Nite” will be coming to the park in Anaheim, California for the first time this June.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Disneyland Resort announced last week that “Pride Nite” is coming to the park for the first time this June.
  • Disneyland said the two Pride Nites, happening on June 13 and 15, will take place “in honor” of Pride Month and that the event “celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.”
  • “The first-ever Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite is coming to @Disneyland during Pride Month in June,” Disney tweeted. “This separately ticketed even celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and allies will have themed entertainment, Disney characters, specialty menu items and more.”
  • The event will include a “Pride Night Dance Club” and a number of Disney characters available throughout the park for photos.
  • “It begins with a three-hour pre-party mix-in from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. PT, then the private party runs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. PT, when guests can ride some popular attractions after regular park hours,” the park said.
  • Tickets go on sale April 20 for $139, the Los Angeles Times reported.
DISNEY EMPLOYEE JOSE CASTILLO ON THE COMPANY’S “WOKE” LEADERSHIP:

“At this point, I believe the company has been hijacked by the liberal left. We need new leadership. Our CEO Bob Chapek, he’s supposed to be leading the company, not following the woke mob. He has fiduciary duty to the stockholders of this company. That means he has to protect their investment, protect their money. But instead what does he do? He protects the feelings of a few minority workers,” Castillo said.

BACKGROUND:
  • In June 2022, Disney’s “Lightyear,” an animated biopic about Buzz Lightyear, fell short of its projected box office earnings during its opening weekend after the plot included a same-sex kiss between two female characters.
  • The scene was reportedly briefly removed from the film before pro-LGBT Disney employees demanded it remain in the movie.
  • Disney anticipated a $70 million opening weekend but the movie brought in $51 million domestically.
  • Actor Chris Evans, who voiced Buzz in the film, rebuked the parents and critics who took issue with the same-sex kiss being featured in a movie targeted toward children.
  • “Throughout history, you can see, every time there’s been social advancement, as we wake up, the American story, the human story is one of constant social awakening and growth, and that’s what makes us good,” Evans said at the time. “Those people die off like dinosaurs. I think the goal is to pay them no mind, march forward, and embrace the growth that makes us human.”
