DISNEY’S PROGRESSIVE ENTERTAINMENT:
- Just days ago news broke that Disney’s new film “Lightyear” had an underwhelming opening weekend at the box office, bringing in about $51 million following bad press among families concerned about the lesbian kiss left in the movie.
- Another underwhelming start for the company was their recent “Disney+” release which reportedly had the lowest viewership numbers for a release the streaming service has seen yet.
- A total of about 775,000 households watched the new Marvel series in its first five days, which was relatively abysmal when compared to shows such as Moon Knight (1.8 million), Hawkeye (1.5 million), Loki (2.5 million), and WandaVision (1.6 million).
- Other projects with unexpectedly low support included the live-action “Mulan” and “Eternals” movies.
BACKGROUND:
- Conservatives have continually voiced concern about the Disney company “grooming” their children to be part of a morally progressive movement that is antithetical to their own beliefs.
- Breitbart’s John Nolte reported on the progressive movement saying: “What once was entertaining is now two things people hate about movies: 1) woke lectures and 2) sitting there stressed out waiting for the woke lecture.”
