Direct Messaging Now Available on Truth Social

Truth Social, Donald J. Trump’s social media platform, has released a direct messaging (DM) feature for all users on Android, iOS, and web.

To access DMs, users must update to the latest version of the app and click or tap the “Messages” icon on the bottom right of the menu bar, Reclaim the Net reports.

The first time users open their DMs, they will be asked to set their DM privacy and notification preferences. These preferences can be changed at any time through the “Preferences” menu.

Additionally, users can customize their DM notifications on a per-chat basis. DMs can be sent to any user who follows the sender and has DMs enabled, with a maximum of 500 characters per message, according to Reclaim the Net.

Currently, DMs do not support media attachments, but Truth Social plans to add this feature in the future. By default, DMs will automatically delete after 14 days, but this auto-delete window can be adjusted to delete messages after seven, 14, 30, or 90 days.
