The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is offering triple the incentive for illegal immigrants choosing to remove themselves from the nation.
Illegal immigrants who choose to self-deport through the CBP Home App through the end of the year will receive a $3,000 stipend as well as a free flight home.
“Since January 2025, 1.9 million illegal aliens have voluntarily self-deported and tens of thousands have used the CBP Home program. During the Christmas Season, the U.S. taxpayer is so generously tripling the incentive to leave voluntarily for those in this country illegally- offering a $3,000 exit bonus, but just until the end of the year,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement. “Illegal aliens should take advantage of this gift and self-deport because if they don’t, we will find them, we will arrest them, and they will never return.”
Noem also discussed the plan in an interview with “Fox & Friends.” She explained that if a migrant voluntarily wants to return to their country and is in the United States illegally, “we will give you $3,000 through the holidays to send you home. We’ll buy you a ticket, give you $3,000 to go home — and that includes people that have not been detained, maybe have interacted with us, are detained and don’t have criminal charges against them.”
The CBP Home App, announced in the spring, “provides illegal aliens in the United States with a straightforward way to declare their intent to voluntarily depart, offering them the chance to leave before facing harsher consequences,” Acting Commissioner of U.S Customs and Border Protection Pete Flores said at the time.
The app features an “Intent to Depart” function that allows those illegally present in the United States to inform the government of their intention to leave the country.
