The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) released “toolkits” for organizing pro-Palestine rallies.
Conservative news outlet The Post Millennial first obtained the materials.
In one document, “Palestine Solidarity Working Group Fall 2023, Palestine Organizing Toolkit,” the organization lists a series of demands.
These demands include:
- “US out of Palestine – End ALL US Aid to Israel.”
- “End the Bombardment – Stop the Genocide”
- “Lift the Siege on Gaza”
- “Ceasefire NOW”
Some of the organizing ideas for pro-Palestine content include film screenings, marches, chants, and posters.
The document also includes a step-by-step guide for organizing “direct action.”
If protestors are confronted by authorities, the document says, “Do NOT give any police officers information about what we’re doing. If any police officer asks you questions, just say ‘I don’t know, I’m not an organizer’ and tell one of the marshals in the green vests/arm bands.”
“If the police detains you or arrests you, the only thing you should say is ‘I want to speak to a lawyer.’ Do NOT give them any information about what you or other people here were doing. IT WILL NOT HELP, it will only make things worse for you. You can never talk your way out of an arrest but you can always talk your way into more severe charges,” the guidance adds.
Another document provides additional information for pro-Palestine demonstrators.
“For our DSA endorsed congresspeople, we will ensure that they are fully aware that DSA supports them taking this strong stance and that they are encouraged to continue to speak up in support of ending the occupation and apartheid,” the document reads.
“At this moment, unity in our organization is important. The best tool we have to fight empire is a mass, resilient socialist organization.”
