Dan Crenshaw Snaps at Girl Questioning His Comparison Between Jesus and Fictional Characters

Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw was short with a kid who questioned his March 2020 comments about a comparison between Jesus Christ and Superman.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Former Navy SEAL Rep. Dan Crenshaw had harsh words for a child who took him to task about his comparison of Jesus Christ to Superman according to The National File.
  • Crenshaw suggested that society will always benefit from “hero archetypes” and cited Jesus Christ and Superman as his two examples.
  • The Texas representative was berated for his comparison which some said denied the divinity of Christ.
WHAT THOSE INVOLVED SAID:
  • “I can’t wrap my head around this,” said the speaker who was questioning Crenshaw about the statement.
  • “I’ll help you,” Crenshaw said. “Put a period after Jesus and don’t question my faith,” which drew an immediate eruption from the crowd.
  • One attendee even told him he “can’t talk to a kid like that” and a contingent chanted “Let’s Go Brandon” at the former SEAL.
  • “I can question your faith if this is what you said,” the girl told the Congressman.
  • “You guys can ask questions about all these things and I will answer that but don’t question my faith,” Crenshaw shot back to the girl.
BACKGROUND:
  • Crenshaw was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2018 and is currently serving his second term, representing Texas’s second congressional district, which is in the Houston area.
  • Conservatives’ initial love for the representative has cooled with recent comments such as his assertion that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was either “a Democrat or just an idiot” over her COVID-19 stance, as Yahoo reported.
  • Crenshaw also called the GOP Freedom Caucus “Grifters” and “Performance Artists” in what The Daily Beast called an attack of “Friendly Fire.”
