Dan Bongino Named Deputy FBI Director

Conservative personality and former U.S. Secret Service agent Dan Bongino has been tapped to serve as the FBI’s deputy director.

President Donald Trump called Bongino “a man of incredible love and passion for our Country” on Sunday evening.

“Dan has a Masters Degree in Psychology from C.U.N.Y., and an MBA from Penn State. He was a member of the New York Police Department (New York’s Finest!), a highly respected Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, and is now one of the most successful Podcasters in the Country, something he is willing and prepared to give up in order to serve,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Working with our great new United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and Director Patel, Fairness, Justice, Law and Order will be brought back to America, and quickly. Congratulations Dan!”

“Another aspect of the life of Dan Bongino that I think is very important,” he added. “He has a great wife, Paula, and two wonderful daughters who truly love their dad. What an incredible job Dan will do!!!”

Bongino thanked Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and FBI Director Kash Patel in response.

Bongino will serve with Patel, who was confirmed by the Senate to lead the FBI in a 51-49 vote last week. Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME) joined with Democrats to oppose Patel’s confirmation.

In nominating him for the role, President Donald Trump said Patel was a “brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People. He played a pivotal role in uncovering the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, standing as an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution.”
