Rising vaccination rate in Europe is not slowing the spread of Covid-19.
QUICK FACTS:
- 65.55% of European countries have been fully vaccinated, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, 69.9% receiving at least one dose.
- Nevertheless, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported on Nov 16 that coronavirus “deaths in Europe rose 5% in the previous week, making it the only region in the world where Covid-19 deaths increased.”
- Speaking to the BBC, WHO regional director Dr. Hans Kluge warned that 500,000 more deaths could be recorded by March.
