EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak and researcher Ralph Baric’s work on COVID-19 was connected to a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) grant, according to a newly released email.
United States Geological Survey (USGS) National Wildlife Health Center research epidemiologist Tonie Rocke emailed Baric’s wife “Toni,” writing, “Hi Toni (nice to meet a fellow Toni – I don’t often); Yes, 11:30 works for me. Is that ET? I’m not yet sure if I’ll be working from home tomorrow, so probably best if I call you. I’d like to hear your thoughts on how these proteins are best delivered to bats and what has been attempted so far.”
A later email inquired about a DARPA grant.
Rocke wrote Ralph Baric: “Hi Ralph: I have a couple of questions about the SARS-CoV spike glycoproteins you are developing with respect to the DARPA grant we are collaborating on. Do you have time for a call sometime tomorrow?”
Daszak then wrote to “Toni,” passing along information relating to the “nanopartical work [Baric’s] been involved in.”

Another email discusses “trials in vaccinated bats at [University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill].”
“I think we should just subcontract with UW to engineer the RCN constructs. They are really skilled at it. We typically then produce the master seeds in my lab,” Rocke wrote to Baric.
Many speculate “UW” is Wuhan University.
Chinese bats are also implicated in the emails.
Baric wrote to Rocke, “I have no bat colony, no way for me to do the experiment-which I definitely think needs to be done or we have no credibility. My understanding another bat colony exists in China, but not sure who is doing what.”
Project Veritas obtained never-before-seen military documents that reveal “EcoHealth Alliance approached DARPA in March 2018 seeking funding to conduct gain of function research of bat-borne coronaviruses.”
A portion of the report points out that the EcoHealth Alliance proposal “does not mention or assess potential risks of Gain of Function (GoF) research.”
Project Veritas explained that while Dr. Anthony Fauci has denied under oath that the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) funded ‘gain of function’ research in China with the EcoHealth Alliance program, DARPA did classify the research as gain-of-function.
