Country Singer Postpones Grand Ole Opry Deput After Evacuating Los Angeles Home

Singer-songwriter Shaboozey’s highly anticipated Grand Ole Opry debut, originally scheduled for January 18, has been postponed due to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.

The “Let it Burn” artist was forced to evacuate his Los Angeles home, the Grand Ole Opry announced Friday. A new date for his Opry debut has not yet been announced.

While dealing with the wildfires’ impact, Shaboozey continues to celebrate the success of his hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which recently ended a record-tying 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and now sits at No. 2.

The Opry appearance was the only performance on Shaboozey’s schedule before heading overseas in March for a series of concerts.

He is also slated to perform at the Madden Bowl on February 7, alongside Jelly Roll and Chris Stapleton, in a prelude to the Super Bowl. There is no word yet on whether this event will be affected.

Fans can stay tuned for updates regarding rescheduled performances and future appearances.

The Los Angeles area is continuing to experience relentless wildfires, with the Palisades Fire intensifying and prompting additional evacuations.

Among the fires wreaking havoc are the Palisades and Eaton wildfires, while firefighters are making progress in containing the Kenneth, Hurst, and Lidia fires. Despite their efforts, the Palisades Fire remains only 14% contained.

The toll of destruction continues to climb, with over 5,000 structures—426 of them homes—reported destroyed or severely damaged. More than 100,000 residents have been displaced by the fires.

Preliminary damage assessments suggest an economic impact between $135 billion and $150 billion, according to AccuWeather, though government officials have yet to release an official estimate.
