Corey Feldman, beloved ’80s child star and whistleblower, credits his Christian faith with protecting him against corruption and abuse in Hollywood. In a Fox News interview, Feldman highlighted how his relationship with God kept his spirit positive despite recounting deep trauma from his youth in the entertainment industry.
Feldman, known for roles in The Goonies, Gremlins, and Stand by Me, has long exposed the dark underbelly of Hollywood, including widespread abuse he and his late friend Corey Haim endured as children. His 2013 memoir Coreyography detailed molestation by powerful industry figures. Feldman shared that addiction and family dysfunction—such as his mother’s substance abuse and encouragement from his father—pulled him into despair before his faith ultimately grounded him.
“Wherever there’s power, there’s corruption,” Feldman told Fox, explaining his vigilance and calling for awareness. He said God’s light helped him “put out those fires” of darkness as he confronted Hollywood’s sins. Despite the backlash and personal cost from speaking out, Feldman finds strength in Scripture and prayer, believing good will ultimately triumph over evil.
Today, Feldman reports a stable and joyful life—producing, creating music, and raising a 20-year-old son—attributing his resilience to gratitude and steadfast faith: “My life is good. I’m grateful to God for giving me this opportunity,” he said.
