Congresswomen Greene and Stefanik Introduce Resolutions to Expunge Trump’s Impeachments

In a bold move, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) have introduced resolutions in an effort to expunge the impeachments of former President Donald John Trump that took place on January 13, 2021, and December 18, 2019.

The resolutions aim to erase the impeachments, characterizing them as unconstitutional, and to treat them as if the Articles of Impeachment had never been passed by the House of Representatives.

Greene stated emphatically, “The first impeachment of President Trump was a politically motivated sham. The Democrats, led by Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff, weaponized a perfect phone call with Ukraine to interfere with the 2020 election.”

She went on to accuse the Democrats of ignoring credible evidence of “corrupt dealings” involving Joe and Hunter Biden, as revealed by an FBI FD-1023 form, which she asserts vindicates Trump and “exposes the crimes of the Biden family.”

Stefanik echoed Greene’s sentiments, stating, “The American people know Democrats weaponized the power of impeachment against President Donald Trump to advance their own extreme political agenda.”

She accused House Democrats of ignoring the Constitution and failing to follow the legislative process in their push to impeach Trump.

The basis of Stefanik’s resolution is the contention that the facts and circumstances surrounding the impeachment do not meet the burden of proof that Trump committed “high Crimes and Misdemeanors” or that he engaged in an “insurrection of rebellion against the United States.”

The resolution sheds light on various issues surrounding the impeachment processes, such as the subjective account of events at the Capitol on January 6th and unusual voting patterns leading up to the 2021 Presidential election.

Meanwhile, Greene’s resolution targets the December 18, 2019, impeachment, contending that Trump was wrongfully accused of misconduct.

She cites information revealed in an unclassified FD-1023 FBI document as evidence that the grounds for the Articles of Impeachment did not meet the burden of proving “high crimes and Misdemeanors.”

Both congresswomen seem determined to pursue these resolutions to “correct the record and clear President Trump’s good name,” as Greene stated.

Stefanik added that it is “past time to expunge Democrats’ sham smear against not only President Trump’s name, but against millions of patriots across the country.”
