CNN’s Leana Wen says the “science” is different now, just before midterm elections.
QUICK FACTS:
- Dr. Leana Wen called for an end to most of the pandemic restrictions during her interview on CNN, according to The Gateway Pundit.
- Wen, a Chinese-born medical professional and former president of Planned Parenthood, said during her interview with Anderson Cooper that the science has “changed” regarding COVID.
- The doctor formerly advocated to strip away the rights of Americans who wouldn’t take the vaccination, according to a previous report.
- Wen now says that the restrictions should be lifted, in what some believe could be a move to soften the image of the political left, who have led calls for strict COVID mandates.
- The Gateway Pundit’s Cristina Laila pointed out that the doctor didn’t cite any data to back up her claim.
MORE ON THE DOCTOR’S COMMENTS:
- “The science has changed,” Dr. Leana Wen said Monday night on CNN as she explained her changed opinion on ending most pandemic restrictions.
- The doctor also went on to say that one-way masking works and “the decision to wear a mask should shift from a government mandate to an individual choice,” going on to say that masking harms kids and makes it more difficult for them to learn.
BACKGROUND:
- Wen said in September of last year that she wished the Biden COVID-19 strategy would contain a number of aggressive restrictions, including vaccine requirements for interstate travel.
- “If you want the privilege of traveling on a plane or train, you need to do your part and get vaccinated,” Wen said.
- The former Planned Parenthood president’s tweet also recommended vaccine mandates for schools and a national proof of vaccination system.
