CNN Analyst and Harvard Professor Calls for Violence Against Freedom Convoy Participants 

Harvard professor, CNN analyst, and former DHS official Juliette Kayyem calls for aggressive ending to Freedom Convoy, asking participants be arrested and their vehicles damaged.

  • The professor also recommended that their tires be slashed and gas taken from tanks in order to put an end to the protesters’ progress.

  • “The convoy protest, applauded by right wing media as a ‘freedom protest,’ is an economic and security issue now,” Kayyem said on Twitter.
  • “The Ambassador Bridge link constitutes 28% of annual trade movement between US and Canada. Slash the tires, empty gas tanks, arrest the drivers, and move the trucks.”
BACKGROUND:
  • The Harvard professor is also an analyst for CNN and a former official for the Department of Homeland Security.
  • Kayyem was promptly called out for her tweet and later apologized saying that it was “suggested” that she was promoting vigilantism but that she “intended to say” that “people have the freedom to protest.”
