Climate Envoy John Kerry Spends $4.3 Million Per Year on Staff

Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry spends $4.3 million in taxpayer dollars on his staff each year.

The Boston Herald obtained the information through a Freedom of Information Act request.

All but one of Kerry’s staff receives a six-figure salary.

The identities of the staff remain unknown, as well as the titles of the employees making the greatest salaries.

Branch chief of Statutory Compliance for the State Department James Rosenbaum told the Herald that revealing the names of Kerry’s employees would “constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of an individual’s personal privacy.”

The mystery surrounding the salaries is the latest shroud of secrecy covering Kerry.

American Faith previously reported that Kerry has traveled to numerous locations for reasons unknown.

The State Department has refused to release information pertaining to people Kerry has met with, budgeting, and other details.

Head of the House Oversight Committee James Comer (R-KY) sent a final letter to Kerry’s office, noting that a subpoena may be Congress’ next move should the climate envoy’s office refuse to comply with the two previous requests for budgeting information.

“The State Department has not provided any meaningful updates to Committee staff inquiries on the status of producing these documents,” Comer wrote in a statement.

“Envoy Kerry is engaging in activities that skirt congressional authority, threaten foreign policy under the guise of climate advocacy, and could undermine economic health,” Comer continued, adding, “Yet, Envoy Kerry and his office are refusing to be transparent about their activities, spending, and staffing with the Committee—and the American people.”
