Documents found at the Penn Biden Center dating from 2013 to 2016 included information regarding Ukraine, Iran, and the United Kingdom. One of Biden’s lawyers discovered the materials and contacted the National Archives. Mike Turner (R-OH) of the House Intelligence Committee warned the National Archives in a letter that Biden’s possession of the materials may have violated laws “protecting national security, including the Espionage Act and Presidential Records Act.”

James Comer, R-Ky., said Monday the news raises questions about the Justice Department's handling of the investigation into Trump and the discovery of classified documents at the former president's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida last summer. "Is the White House going to be raided tonight? Are they going to raid the Bidens?" Comer asked reporters. "This is further concern that there's a two-tier justice system within the DOJ with how they treat Republicans versus Democrats, certainly how they treat the former president versus the current president."
