Christmas Is Not a Hate Crime

Without committing a crime, breaking the law, or hurting anyone, Christmas has been declared an enemy of peace.

The pro-abortion, anti-family, left-wing media have been vigorously attempting to destroy and demolish the nuclear family, religion, and even good old St. Nick for decades. Some Gen Z parents have even announced this year that they will refuse to allow their children to believe in Santa Claus because they will be “traumatized” when they find out he’s not real. Somehow, these same people are the ones most likely to think it is not damaging to encourage minors to mutilate their genitals before they can memorize the words to “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” — not that they would be allowed to sing it anyway, since Rudolph is a boy and all reindeer reject transgender ideology.

It’s not that the Left doesn’t want to observe Christmas, which is perfectly fine. It’s that it seems to hate it and all those who do celebrate it. The Left’s merciless attack on Christmas is astounding. It became mainstream in 2005 with an unfortunately well-thought-out scheme. One can never forget the infamous movement to replace “Merry Christmas” with the term “Happy Holidays” to provide a more “inclusive” phrase for those who don’t participate in the widely celebrated holiday. The word “Christmas” literally means to celebrate Christ’s birth, and we can’t have that. So it is not shocking that the anti-family, pro-abortion Left wanted to remove a phrase that celebrates the sacredness of life and highlights the need for salvation.

Indeed, that movement has scored some wins. Last year, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) chose to refer to the state’s capital Christmas tree as a “holiday tree.” You can google it if you want, but to me, it really really looked like a Christmas tree. But I don’t really know what an undefined holiday tree looks like anyways, so I could be way off. A Massachusetts library took it to the next level this year by just skipping the annual installation of a Christmas tree altogether. According to liberals, libraries featuring books and events that promote pedophilia and pornography are good, while a venerated, worldwide symbol of Christmas is bad.

The movement to bring down the nuclear family and bring down Christmas has been well plotted, planned, and executed. In a 2020 piece in the Atlantic , one of its operatives argued that the family structure we’ve held up as the cultural ideal for the past half-century has been a catastrophe for many. The article starts by setting a beautiful scene of a holiday meal: “Dozens of people celebrating Thanksgiving or some other holiday around a makeshift stretch of family tables — siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, great-aunts. The grandparents are telling the old family stories for the 37th time.” But, according to the Atlantic, these scenes are not nostalgic. They don’t foster belonging, community, security, and love. In fact, they’re dangerous, you bigot.

Once the traditional family structure is erased and deemed “harmful,” you leave room for anything. Why not allow three men to marry each other and raise a child? Yes, that happened. In California, a gay polyamorous throuple made history in 2017 when it became the first family in the state to list three dads on a birth certificate. I’ll bet you pennies to Prozac and dollars to Diazepam that child will suffer some severe emotional trauma. According to the Atlantic, though, not as much trauma as the child with one mother and one father who sat around the grandparents’ table listening to family stories.

Despite the Left’s darkest, most convoluted efforts, family and life are finally winning again this Christmas season. The reversal of Roe v. Wade has solidified what the pro-life, pro-family community has always known: This country, in fact, the entire world, is better off when life is winning and the nuclear family is strong.

Since the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling, the total number of abortions has decreased by 6% in the United States, with an estimated 10,000 babies saved so far. As a result, the Christmas season is looking more hopeful than ever before. Ultimately, the extreme hatred of Christmas only reveals how badly America needs it.
