Chairman Comer Accuses Biden-Harris Administration of Abusing Power for Electoral Gain

An inquiry has been initiated by the House Oversight Committee into the circumstances of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent trip to Pennsylvania amidst the fast-approaching November elections. The committee is probing into allegations reported by Fox News on Wednesday, which claim that the administration of Biden-Harris utilized funds from taxpayers to facilitate Zelensky’s journey to the state.

According to a statement released by the committee, its chairman, James Comer (R-KY), is in the process of requesting information from various departments including the White House, Department of Defense, and Department of Justice. The inquiry focuses on the potential misapplication of governmental resources by the Biden-Harris Administration, which allegedly enabled Zelensky to play a role in the 2024 presidential election.

The statement elaborates: “In 2019, the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives impeached President Donald J. Trump for abuse of power under the theory that he attempted to use a foreign leader—Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky—to benefit his 2020 presidential campaign, despite a lack of any evidence of wrongdoing on the part of President Trump. The Biden-Harris Administration recently flew the same foreign leader—Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky—on an American-taxpayer-funded flight to Pennsylvania, a battleground state in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, which has been described as the ‘trickiest battleground for Vice President Kamala Harris to win.’  The Committee seeks to determine whether the Biden-Harris Administration attempted to use a foreign leader to benefit Vice President Harris’s presidential campaign and, if so, necessarily committed an abuse of power,” Chairman Comer stated.

In a recent move by the Biden-Harris Administration, Zelensky was transported to Pennsylvania aboard a Department of the Air Force aircraft for meetings with U.S. government officials regarding the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. During his visit, Zelensky’s schedule included a meeting with the Governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro. On September 22, 2024, President Zelensky expressed several critical views about the Trump-Vance ticket in an interview published by The New Yorker.

As highlighted by Breitbart News, Trump has expressed his desire to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine even before officially taking office, stating: “I want to get Russia to settle up with Ukraine and stop this — millions of people being killed, far greater than the number you read about. But I want to get that done before I even take office, I want to get that done as president-elect, because it has to be solved — too many people dying, too many cities are just in rubble right now, you look at the cultures just being destroyed.”

In her campaign against Trump for the 2024 presidency, Vice President Kamala Harris (D) in June promised an additional $1.5 billion in direct support for Ukraine, as reported by Breitbart News. “Since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, the United States has sent more than $3.2 billion in humanitarian aid and nearly $1.5 billion to help Ukraine’s energy sector, the White House said.”

Recent polling data, as reported by Breitbart News, indicates a tie between Trump and Harris in the key state of Pennsylvania, with Trump leading in Georgia.
