On May 28, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updated its recommendations for fully vaccinated individuals. However, it continued its face mask requirement for people traveling on “planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation” and in travel hubs like train stations and airports.
As of July 12, the CDC reported 5,492 breakthrough COVID cases resulting in hospitalization or death. Meanwhile, states continue to report more breakthrough cases, and the New York Yankees cancel series opener after fully vaccinated players test positive.
