Capitol Police Tackle Protesters at Congressional Baseball Game

U.S. Capitol Police tackled climate protesters disrupting the congressional baseball game.

The group Climate Defiance wrote on X, “This Chevron-sponsored game cannot continue. This is unconscionable.”

Eight individuals were arrested.

Pro-Hamas activists also appeared at the ballgame and were tackled by police upon disrupting the event.

Attendees then began chanting, “USA!”

Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) told Newsmax that with each protestor tackled, the “entire Republican side would cheer. It was pretty funny.”

Other alarming instances have occurred during the congressional baseball game.

In 2017, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), now the House Majority Leader, was shot during a practice for the baseball game.

“Scalise obviously was severely injured; still has a limp and some significant injuries because of the round that he took in the hip. But he starts every game. We let him bat first,” Steube added. “He leads us off and even both sides, the Republicans and the Democrats, cheer him on.”

“He literally took a bullet for our country by a crazy person who wanted to attack a bunch of Republicans on a baseball field that day.”

One X user recalled the Scalise incident, writing, “Hats off to Capitol Police for immediately shutting down a threat to the security of the Congressional Baseball Game by radical Green activists. We know it was exactly this setting where a crazed left-winger shot and seriously injured Rep. Steve Scalise.”
