Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said mandates are the way the country will reach fewer COVID restrictions.
QUICK FACTS:
- As the “Freedom Convoy” continues in protest of the mandates and forced vaccinations in Canada, Trudeau announced Tuesday that the restrictive measures were the only way towards easing COVID rules.
- “The government has been focused… on following the best science, following the best public health advice to keep as many people safe as possible,” Trudeau said. “And I can understand frustrations with mandates. But mandates are the way to avoid further restrictions.”
CRITICS OF TRUDEAU ON TWITTER:
“He’s such an appalling, cowardly moron. Canadians who voted for him should feel embarrassed.” @BUCKSEXTON
BACKGROUND:
- Last month, Trudeau smeared the unvaccinated as “racists” and “misogynists” who hate science.
- “This leads us, as a leader and as a country, to make a choice: Do we tolerate these people? Over 80% of the population of Quebec have done their duty by getting the shot. They are obviously not the issue in this situation,” Trudeau continued.
- The Prime Minister has yet to meet with or speak directly to the protesters.
