Campaign Donations Increase for Trump Following Last Month’s Debate

According to a new report, campaign donations have dramatically increased for former President Donald Trump following last month’s debate with President Joe Biden.

In May 2024, after Donald Trump was found guilty in the hush money case, his campaign website crashed from a surge of donations to his second presidential campaign.

“WinRed is down due to the overwhelming amount of support out there, all across America! Stay strong, and thank you. The site will be up and running again soon!” Dan Scavino wrote on X, later adding, “WEBSITE IS BACK, LIVE!”

As individuals went to the site to donate to Trump’s campaign, a banner read, “Under Maintenance.”

“Our engineers are working to provide you with a better experience. We will be back shortly,” the statement said.

Earlier this week, Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk announced that he plans to donate nearly $45 million every month to a new pro-Trump Super PAC.

The new PAC is also allegedly backed by Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, former U.S. ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband, Joe Craft, who is chief executive of coal producer Alliance Resource Partners, and the Winklevoss twins.

“The coalition assessed that the Democrats have historically had very robust “get out the vote” campaigns and took note of the amounts of money that the Biden administration has dedicated to so-called “on the ground” efforts in swing states. America PAC will try to counter that,” the Wall Street Journal reported.

A filing released Monday showed the PAC had already raised over $8 million.
