California Man Detained for Conspiring with Christian School Shooter

Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have detained a 20-year-old California man, Alexander Paffendorf, for allegedly conspiring with Madison, Wisconsin, school shooter Natalie “Samantha” Rpuinow.

The two were allegedly planning a mass shooting at a government building, according to a “gun violence restraining order” obtained by NBC 7.

According to the order, Paffendorf “admitted to the FBI agents that he told Rupnow that he would arm himself with explosives and a gun and that he would target a government building.”

The outlet noted that it is unclear if Paffendorf was arrested after he was detained.

Paffendorf’s neighbors told CBS 8 that “about 15 cops” were in the street. Neighbor Alex Gallegos said he saw police carrying a “black gun box.” He noted he did not see police “arrest anybody, but they gave high-fives as it came to an end.”

President Joe Biden pushed for gun control following the shooting at Abundant Life Christian School.

“From Newtown to Uvalde, Parkland to Madison, to so many other shootings that don’t receive attention – it is unacceptable that we are unable to protect our children from this scourge of gun violence. We cannot continue to accept it as normal. Every child deserves to feel safe in their class room. Students across our country should be learning how to read and write – not having to learn how to duck and cover,” Biden said in a statement.

He added that his administration has “taken aggressive action to combat the gun violence epidemic. We passed the most significant gun safety legislation in nearly 30 years, I have taken more executive action to reduce gun violence than any other President in history, and I created the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. But more is needed.”
