The man accused of throwing Molotov cocktails in Boulder, Colorado, has been charged with 118 counts by the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office.
Mohamed Soliman faces 28 counts of attempted murder, as well as counts relating to animal cruelty, using an incendiary device, assault, and others.
Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty said during a news conference that the charges “reflect the evidence that we have regarding this horrific attack that took place, and the seriousness of it.”
Soliman is also being charged with a federal hate crime.
“The Department of Justice has swiftly charged the illegal alien perpetrator of this heinous attack with a federal hate crime and will hold him accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Our prayers are with the victims and our Jewish community across the world,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said upon announcing the federal charges. “This vile anti-Semitic violence comes just weeks after the horrific murder of two young Jewish Americans in Washington DC. We will never tolerate this kind of hatred. We refuse to accept a world in which Jewish Americans are targeted for who they are and what they believe.”
On June 1, Soliman allegedly shouted “Free Palestine” and launched Molotov cocktails against people marching for Israeli hostages. The victims, aged between 52 and 88, sustained various degrees of burn injuries, with at least one individual in critical condition.
The illegal immigrant admitted to authorities that he wanted to eliminate all “Zionist” people and had planned the attack for a year.
