Vice President JD Vance Suspended by Bluesky 12 Mins After Conservative Post

Vice President JD Vance faced a sudden Bluesky suspension just 12 minutes after joining the leftist social media platform and posting a message in support of a Supreme Court decision upholding Tennessee’s ban on transgender procedures for minors.

“Hello Bluesky, I’ve been told this app has become the place to go for common sense political discussion and analysis,” Vance posted before linking to Justice Clarence Thomas’s concurring opinion. He emphasized that Thomas “argues that many of our so-called ‘experts’ have used bad arguments and substandard science to push experimental therapies on our youth.”

Vance continued, “I might add that many of those scientists are receiving substantial resources from big pharma to push these medicines on kids.”

Within minutes, Bluesky banned the account. The platform displayed a message stating, “Not found. Account has been suspended,” just as Axios journalist Marc Caputo reported the incident. While Bluesky later reversed the suspension and blamed an “automated system” intended to detect impersonators, the timing and backlash from users raised serious concerns.

“Don’t just block. Report the account and the posts,” one user wrote. Another admitted they had already “reported” Vance’s post “for misinformation.”

Bluesky, created as an “open” alternative to X, has seen a surge in left-wing users after President Trump’s re-election in 2024. The platform tripled its user base from 10 million to 30 million between November 2024 and May 2025, according to Pew Research.

Despite Bluesky’s public claim that it “welcomes the Vice President,” the platform’s knee-jerk reaction demonstrates the broader intolerance of dissenting conservative voices. As Vance’s suspension proved, even high-ranking officials face suppression when they challenge progressive orthodoxy.

“I’m thrilled to be here to engage with all of you,” Vance wrote—only to be swiftly silenced.
