President Joe Biden is reportedly asking Congress to approve a housing program for illegal immigrants at the southern border.
The move, which would be part of his $40 billion emergency funding request, would provide housing for illegals while the Department of Homeland Security puts them through an expedited process.
The Biden administration claims a housing program would take some of the burden off overrun migrant shelters and allow the federal government to keep track of illegals without placing them in a detention facility.

Biden’s proposed housing program would give illegal immigrants the freedom to leave during the day before they would have to check in and stay the night at the housing facility, a DHS official told Axios. “We do not view this as family detention,” the official said.
