Following his speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago last Monday, President Joe Biden and his family spent the week vacationing at the California estate of billionaire Democratic donor Joe Kiani.
This week, Biden plans to continue his vacation at his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, with no public events scheduled.
These extended periods of vacation have drawn criticism, especially in light of Biden’s previous declaration that ending the war in Gaza and securing the return of hostages held by Hamas would be his top priority in the final months of his presidency.
Despite this pledge, cease-fire talks have seen little progress since late July, and the conflict has intensified with increased attacks between Israel and Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed group in Lebanon.
Critics, including Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), have expressed concerns over what they perceive as a lack of clear leadership from the White House.
Donalds questioned the administration’s direction, remarking on Fox News, “I’m not quite sure who’s running the place.”
