On Thursday, President Joe Biden mistakenly asserted that he has only six grandchildren, overlooking the existence of Navy Joan Roberts, the out-of-wedlock daughter of his son Hunter Biden, Breitbart reports.
Hunter pays child support for Navy Joan, who is now four years old, and is currently involved in a legal battle to reduce these payments.
During a “Take Your Child to Work Day Greet” event at the White House, Joe Biden failed to acknowledge Navy Joan Roberts while speaking to children gathered outside.
“I have six grandchildren. And I’m crazy about them. I speak to them every single day, not a joke,” he stated. “As a matter of fact, I just got finished going through the calls. And only one of them answered the phone.”
The President went on to list his grandchildren by name: “Naomi,” “Finnegan,” “Mazie” (nickname), “Natalie,” [No name] “senior in high school,” and “Beau Biden.”
He added, “Guess what, they are crazy about me.”
In December, attorneys representing the mother of Hunter’s out-of-wedlock child filed a motion to change the child’s last name to Biden, Breitbart notes.
They argued, “The Biden name is now synonymous with being well educated, successful, financially acute, and politically powerful.”
However, Hunter’s legal team countered this motion, claiming there was no “strict proof thereof that such request is in the best interest of the child.”
