A new poll from Gallup revealed that President Joe Biden finished 2023 with a 39% job approval.
The number is the lowest rating of any modern president leading into a reelection year.
According to the poll, 78% of Democrats approve of Biden, down seven points from November.
Only 34% of Independents approve of Biden’s job as U.S. President.
Heading into a reelection year, Donald Trump had 45% approval, and Barack Obama had 43% approval.
“Biden enters 2024 with a persistently low job approval rating, the worst of any modern-day president heading into a tough reelection campaign,” Gallup wrote.
A poll from the Wall Street Journal also recorded Biden’s record-low job approval.
Only 23% of voters said Biden has helped them personally, while 53% said they have been hurt by his policies.
