Biden Campaign Joins TikTok After Banning App From Federal Devices

The Biden reelection campaign joined the social media platform TikTok to reach younger voters.

One video saw Biden choosing different options for the Super Bowl, such as “game or halftime show,” “Jason Kelce or Travis Kelce.”

The video pivoted to a campaign strategy as Biden was asked, “Trump or Biden,” to which he laughed and said, “Biden.”

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) called out Biden’s hypocritical presence on the app, writing on X, “Biden campaign bragging about using a Chinese spy app even though Biden signed a law banning it on all federal devices.”

White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby did not offer an explanation as to why Biden allowed his campaign to operate on the platform after TikTok was considered a security threat.

“Why did the president allow his campaign to go on TikTok despite the national security review of the platform?” a reporter asked.

“I’d have to refer you to the campaign for that,” Kirby responded.

American Faith reported that the Democrat-linked SuperPAC Priorities USA has provided $1 million to social media influencers to advertise Joe Biden’s campaign.

According to Politico, the move was “part of a larger Democratic strategy to lure young voters in battleground states.”

About 150 social media influencerswere recruited for the endeavor.

When asked about the social media campaign, Priorities USA spokesperson Jack Doyle said, “We look forward to working with TikTok throughout the cycle.”
