Biden Admits COVID Cannot be Solved on a Federal Level, Heads To Delaware for the Week

Biden frustrated Americans by declaring that he could not solve the COVID-19 pandemic at a federal level just, before leaving for Delaware on Monday.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Biden stated that the federal government could not solve the COVID-19 pandemic on Monday, in what was taken by many as an admission of defeat, according to The National File.
  • The president’s comments are in stark contradiction to his earlier assertion that the government had the answer, namely their broad and far-reaching ability to create mandates and access experts.
  • The president had also previously stated that he would “shut down” the COVID-19 pandemic through the federal government and that the previous administration was responsible for thousands of deaths due to the virus.
  • Biden said Monday that states have to solve the problem “where the rubber meets the road” and “where the patient is in need of help.”
WHAT ARE OTHERS SAYING:
  • “Biden’s press conference is a joke,” said Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) in a tweet. “The only plan he has for Covid is to continue manipulating mandates to maintain control over you.”
  • Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott also called out Biden’s claims to assist states, saying that Biden should end the unconstitutional federal mandates to stop blocking states from receiving anti-body treatments.
  • “Biden vows full federal support to help states combat COVID. But he’s not,” Abbott said via Twitter. “Biden is hoarding the anti-body therapeutic drugs & denying states independent access to that medical treatment. Now, he has stopped providing any of that medicine to Texas.”
  • Arkansas’s Sen. Tom Cotton responded to the press conference saying, “When Joe Biden says ‘there is no federal solution,’ he’s trying to avoid blame for his incompetence. If he really believes this, he should rescind his unconstitutional federal mandates.”
BACKGROUND:
  • The president put the burden on state governors to enact their own protocols to deal with the pandemic and communicate with the federal government if they needed help.
  • “This is not like March of 2020, the beginning of the pandemic. We’re prepared and we know what it takes to save lives, protect people and keep schools and businesses open,” Biden said. “My message to the governors is simple. If you need something, say something.”
  • While the federal government is backing away from its promise to fix COVID, the president has continued to push vaccine mandates applicable nationwide.
