Biden Admin to Give $1.6 Million to Chinese Energy Company

After Senate Republicans urged the Biden admin to refrain from “enriching China’s technological efforts at the expense of taxpayers,” the Biden administration is to give $1.6 million to LanzaTech, a green energy company that operates in partnership with China-backed Sinopec Capital. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) asserted that “The White House is using its far-left climate policies as an excuse to send taxpayer money to help countries that hate us.”

From Free Beacon:

The Biden administration's affinity with LanzaTech may be explained by the company's deep political connections to top Democrats. LanzaTech counts billionaire venture capitalist Vinod Khosla as a top investor—Khosla in 2008 led then-presidential candidate Barack Obama's India policy team and hosted glitzy fundraisers for the Democrat. Jim Messina, Obama's former deputy chief of staff and campaign manager, went on to join LanzaTech's board in 2013.
