Beverly Hills High School teacher Bella Ivory is pursuing legal action, claiming the administration has ignored her reports of racism on campus since 2022. Represented by attorney Brad Gage, Ivory alleges a series of discriminatory incidents, including offensive student behavior and a lack of support from the school.
One incident involved a video of a student filming feces on a bathroom floor and zooming in on a racist comment written on the wall. In another video, two female students mocked Black students in the cafeteria, contrasting it to its appearance when empty, calling it “disgusting” and claiming they were “repulsed.”
Ivory also described an alarming incident on Election Day when a group of students wearing MAGA hats and carrying a Trump flag marched through the school shouting profanities, including slurs directed at Vice President Kamala Harris. Ivory says the students congregated outside her classroom and attempted to enter, which she said caused fear among her and her Black students locked inside.
Gage has filed a formal complaint with the Beverly Hills Unified School District and intends to file a lawsuit, citing “discrimination, harassment, retaliation, racial comments, and physical threats.” He argues that the school has failed to address these issues adequately.
The district released a statement affirming that it is investigating all claims of racism and harassment to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students. However, no specific actions have been disclosed.
