Attorney General Nominee Pam Bondi Promises to ‘Clean Out the Deep State’

President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as his nominee for U.S. Attorney General signals a bold shift in the Department of Justice’s direction.

Bondi has been a staunch advocate for eliminating the “deep state” and holding accountable those she accuses of using the justice system for political purposes.

“The investigators will be investigated because the deep state, last term for President Trump, they were hiding in the shadows, but now they have a spotlight on them, and they can all be investigated,” she said.

Bondi’s fiery rhetoric, especially during key moments of scrutiny against Trump, has made her a prominent voice among conservatives. In 2023, following Trump’s fourth indictment, Bondi appeared on Fox News, unapologetically criticizing the legal actions against him.

Her calls for dismantling investigations such as the Justice Department’s probe into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election and her dismissal of Trump’s first impeachment as a “sham” have cemented her reputation as a defender of justice against partisan overreach.

Her nomination underscores the president-elect’s intent to reshape the Justice Department, aligning its priorities with a commitment to accountability and fairness while addressing the concerns of conservatives who have long criticized the department’s actions as politically motivated.
