Asmongold Praises Trump’s Venezuela Capture

Top gaming streamer Zach “Asmongold” Hoyt responded enthusiastically to President Donald Trump’s early‑morning announcement that U.S. forces captured Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife, urging the president to “keep the same energy” and suggesting that similar decisive action could be used to address issues closer to home.

On his livestream following Trump’s announcement, Asmongold, who has millions of followers on YouTube and Twitch, applauded the operation and dismissed criticism that the strike was illegal or unconstitutional. “Don’t ever let anybody tell you that you can’t do it,” he said, referencing the backlash Trump received from commentators who argued he should have sought congressional approval. “Everybody was saying, ‘This is against international law…’ and you know what Trump did? He just went in there and did it. That’s it. It’s over.”

Comparing the Venezuela strike to past U.S. actions, he added, “Just like what happened with Iran… If you have power and you have the ability to exercise that power through force, then nobody can tell you, ‘No.’ Nobody can resist you.”

Echoing his support, Asmongold replied to a viewer during the stream, saying, “Yes, keep the same energy. Absolutely.”

He even suggested that the president could apply the same forceful approach to other perceived problems in the United States, albeit without military force. “So, why not go and do this in Minnesota?” he asked. “I mean, if we can do this in Venezuela — I’m not saying we should bomb Minnesota, right? I don’t think that we should do that — but I do think that there are other ways that we can solve some of the problems over there.”

Asmongold also indicated that he might support Trump politically if he continued to take bold action. “If Trump would do this all the time, I’d probably vote for him a third time,” he quipped. “This is what we need. We need to do this, like, once a week… figure out who’s gonna get blown up today.”

This isn’t the first time the streamer has voiced strong opinions on immigration and law enforcement. Last week he reacted forcefully to reports of fraud tied to Somali migrants in Minnesota and across the country, calling for harsh penalties including the denaturalization and deportation of those accused of exploiting social services. “You have to make the punishment infinitely worse than the crime,” he said during that segment, advocating for entire families to be removed from the United States.

Asmongold’s comments reflect a broader trend of high‑profile social media figures weighing in on major political and foreign policy events. Venezuelans around the world celebrated Trump’s announcement of Maduro’s capture, while many left‑leaning commentators and Democratic leaders criticized the military action and raised questions about legality and diplomatic consequences.
