Washington, D.C., will host a major patriotic display on Saturday, June 14, marking the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. The celebration, coinciding with President Trump’s 79th birthday and Flag Day, promises to be a high-profile event spotlighting American military strength and national pride.
Ambassador Monica Crowley, Chief of Protocol for the United States and lead spokesperson for the America 250 initiative, described the parade as a “patriotic celebration” and a tribute to America’s founding ideals. Crowley emphasized that the MAGA movement represents a natural continuation of the Revolutionary spirit and that celebrating 250 years of the Army while President Trump is in office is “providential.”
The parade will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Constitution Avenue between 15th and 23rd Streets. Entry begins at 2:00 p.m., and all attendees must register at America250.org for free digital tickets due to Secret Service security screenings.
The military showcase will feature 120 vehicles and artillery pieces, including 28 M1A1 Abrams tanks, Bradleys, Strykers, and Paladin Howitzers. Over 7,000 military personnel will march, supported by 51 aircraft for historic flyovers. Attendees can expect reenactments, elite military bands, and displays of systems like HIMARS missile launchers. Veterans, wounded warriors, and Gold Star families will also be honored.
Crowley confirmed that top security measures are in place. Following violent riots in Los Angeles, federal and local agencies—including the Secret Service and DHS—are working to ensure a secure environment for all attendees.
Saturday’s event kicks off a series of nationwide America 250 celebrations culminating next July 4 in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington. Crowley noted that the global response has been enthusiastic, with allies like the UK and France expressing interest in participating in next year’s historic celebrations.
President Trump’s leadership in organizing the America 250 celebrations—including the 2028 Olympics and FIFA World Cup—is central to showcasing American values, strength, and leadership on the world stage. According to Crowley, this Saturday’s parade will set the tone for a year-long affirmation of America’s exceptional founding, enduring Constitution, and unwavering spirit of liberty.
